Asian exchanges risk missing out on merger wave

In the midst of stock exchange consolidation, Asian exchanges are suddenly faced with losing their competitive advantages in domestic markets to these larger exchanges, and must decide whether or not to pursue similar alliances. According to Ed Lin, global co-head of Bain & Company's financial services practice, "A larger presence in growth markets such as emerging Asia is another compelling reason for consolidation."
