The New York Times
By Jack Ewing
João Soares, London partner for Bain & Company, is quoted in a
New York Times article on the concern many have about the European Central Bank's cheap loans. Economists fear that in aiding present struggling banks with low interest loans, others experiencing similar problems will abandon attempts to repair themselves and anticipate the same offer when needed. Soares further comments, "It’s like taking medicine, it sometimes has side effects; one side effect that is not good, is that it removes pressure to clean up balance sheets."
