Private equity groups are looking to Africa for healthcare investments to tap into growing demand from the rapidly expanding middle class, but are finding they need to adjust their time horizons and bolster their operational capabilities in the budding market. "People see opportunities in Africa; the challenge is finding platform assets to begin with. We think you will see activity there but it will take time," said Nirad Jain, partner and lead author of Bain & Company's annual private equity healthcare report.
