Urgent care waiting rooms may be a thing of the past

Healthcare companies are pushing to provide patients with instant access to care through digital means. Joshua Weisbrod, a partner in Bain New York's Healthcare practice, says "Many companies are vying to be the Uber of healthcare." As healthcare companies and systems evolve, patient struggles to book immediate, urgent care will become a thing of the past.

Weisbrod believes "The ultimate winner in this space could come from one of many possible spaces -- start-up-apps, health insurers seeking to differentiate, provider systems seeking to capture visits that leak out of their systems today."
