BAIN & COMPANY EXPANDS WORLDWIDE PARTNER GROUPIN RESPONSE TO CONTINUED GROWTH

Leading global business consulting firm promotes 13 individuals from Atlanta, Brussels, Dallas, Delhi, London, Milan, New York, Paris, Rome, São Paulo, Sydney and Tokyo

New York, NY - August 25, 2009-Bain & Company, the global business consulting firm, today announced the addition of thirteen new partners to its worldwide ranks in response to healthy growth in key worldwide markets.

Located in 12 Bain offices across North America, South America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, and encompassing a wide range of Practices and business sectors, the 13 new Partners are:

Atlanta

Dale Stafford is an Atlanta-based partner in the Healthcare and Telecommunications, Media and Technology Practices. Mr. Stafford specializes in growth and turnaround strategy, product profitability and large-scale post-merger integrations. He also oversees recruiting for the firm at Emory University and for all gay and lesbian recruitment globally. Prior to Bain, he worked for Coca-Cola Enterprises, the world's largest bottler of Coca-Cola products, and at another consulting firm. Mr. Stafford earned an M.B.A. from Goizueta Business School at Emory University, where he was a Woodruff Scholar, and a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics, summa cum laude, from the University of Mississippi, where he was also awarded the Taylor medal. He has also studied business strategy at the Leipzig Graduate School of Management (HHL).

Brussels

Cedric Lebegge is a Brussels-based partner in Bain's Financial Services Practice. He is an expert in corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, new market entry and large-scale transformations and turnaround programs. In addition to client work, he is a global training program manager and oversees graduate recruiting for the Brussels office. Mr. Lebegge has also worked in the firm's Paris, Amsterdam, Kyiv and São Paulo offices. He is the author of Mergers and Acquisitions in the Belgian Banking Sector. He earned an M.B.A. from INSEAD and a master's degree in business engineering from the Solvay Business School.

Dallas 

Jim Harris is a Dallas-based partner and a member of the firm's Industrial Goods and Services and Performance Improvement Practices. He joined the firm in 1997 and has experience advising clients in the areas of improving manufacturing processes, supply chains and logistics. Mr. Harris oversees alumni relations for the Dallas office. Prior to joining Bain, he worked for Dell as a segment marketing manager. He earned an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, where he was a Tuck Scholar, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry and economics from Rice University.

Delhi

Amit Sinha is a Delhi-based partner and a member of the Industrial Goods and Services and Telecommunications, Media and Technology Practices. He advises clients on customer and growth strategy, performance improvement, business process outsourcing and IT services strategy, mergers and acquisitions, India entry and captive operational models. Mr. Sinha has also worked in the firm's Boston office and was a founding member of Bain's Delhi office. Prior to joining Bain, he was a managing lead consultant for iGate Corporation and a systems engineer at Tata Motors. Mr. Sinha earned an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Palmer Scholar and a Siebel Scholar, and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science.

London

Sanjay Dhiri is a London-based partner and a member of the firm's Consumer Products and Industrial Goods and Services Practices. He advises clients on performance improvement and organization and also leads professional development for London junior consultants. He has also worked in the firm's Amsterdam office and is an active participant in the Bain Cares network and the international charity Action Against Hunger. Prior to joining Bain, Mr. Dhiri worked for the United Kingdom's Home Office, the United Nations World Food Programme and the Overseas Development Institute, a leading British think tank dedicated to international development and humanitarian issues. He earned an M.B.A. with distinction from the London Business School and has a master's degree in development economics from the University of Sussex.

Milan

Gyorgy Konda is a Milan-based partner in Bain's Consumer Products Practice. He has also worked in the firm's Paris, Milan, London and Munich offices. Mr. Konda's expertise is in advising clients in the fashion, luxury and textiles industries on corporate strategy, portfolio management, business planning and implementation, post-merger integration, marketing strategy and product development, supply chain innovation and business process design and reengineering. Prior to joining Bain, he worked for another consulting firm. He earned an M.B.A. from St. John's University and a bachelor's degree in business administration and international affairs from John Cabot University.

Milan

Vittorio Ratto is a Milan-based partner in Bain's Financial Services Practice. He is an expert in strategy, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, post-merger integration and corporate banking. Prior to Bain, Mr. Ratto worked for the Fiat Group. He earned an M.B.A. from INSEAD and a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Turin.

New York

Eileen Shy is a New York-based partner in the firm's Consumer Products and Retail Practices. Ms. Shy has led long-term engagement with Fortune 500 clients on general strategy issues including consumer-led growth, brand positioning, new market entry, cost reduction programs and corporate mergers and acquisitions due diligence. She has worked in the firm's Boston, Johannesburg and London offices and is the founder and head of the Bain Cares initiative in the New York office. Prior to Bain, she worked for Pegasus Ventures, a venture capital firm jointly sponsored by Omnicom Group and Pegasus Capital Advisors. She earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in public policy, magna cum laude, from Brown University.

Paris

Xavier Bersillon is a Paris-based partner who is a member of the firm's Industrial Goods and Services and Retail Practices. He has expertise serving clients in the retail, railway, building products and travel and tourism sectors. He also specializes in corporate and business unit strategy, customer segmentation and value proposition development, operational improvement and mergers and acquisitions. He earned an M.B.A. from ESSEC and oversees the firm's recruiting efforts for that school.

Rome

Rocco D'Acunto is a Rome-based partner and a member of the firm's Financial Services Practice. He specializes in risk and capital management for international financial services institutions and serves clients in strategy development, risk integration and reporting, Basel II compliance, process redesign and investment portfolio due diligence. Mr. D'Acunto has also worked from the Bain offices in Milan and Brussels. Prior to joining the firm, he worked for Banco di Napoli as a risk officer and for another consulting firm. He earned a graduate degree in management from the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II.

São Paulo

Marcial Rapela is a São Paulo-based partner and a member of the firm's Airlines and Retail Practices and has led engagements addressing strategic planning, business unit and corporate strategy, internationalization strategy, mergers and acquisitions, corporate and organizational restructuring, operational excellence programs, distribution strategy and product portfolio optimization. Mr. Rapela is active in recruiting activities for the firm and has also worked out of Bain's Buenos Aires office. He previously worked for International Trade Logistics, a conglomerate of Argentinean logistics companies. He earned an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting from the Universidad de Buenos Aires.

Sydney

Katrina Bradley is a Sydney-based partner and a member of the firm's Financial Services and Retail Practices. She has advised clients on customer-led transformations and has expertise in customer insight and strategy and growth. Ms. Bradley has also worked in Bain's London office. Additionally, she provides support to the Australian Business and Community Network. She earned a Ph.D. in finance from Edinburgh University and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Canterbury. 

Tokyo

Michael Robbins is a partner in the firm's Tokyo office and a member of the Private Equity and Financial Services Practices. He specializes in growth strategy, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and partnerships, due diligence and post-merger integration. Mr. Robbins started in Bain's New York office, where he was involved in recruiting activities, and now oversees the Tokyo office's recruitment efforts. He is a board member of Imtakt USA. Prior to joining Bain, he worked for Deutsche Bank, the Kyoto Research Park and the Kyoto Convention Bureau. In addition, Mr. Robbins served as Kyoto's liaison to the United Nations 1997 Global Warming Summit and was responsible for the city's marketing program. He earned an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Columbia University.
