BAIN & COMPANY ELECTS MANNY MACEDA AS WORLDWIDE MANAGING DIRECTOR
New York – November 20, 2017 – Bain & Company, the global business consulting firm, has elected Manny Maceda to serve as the firm’s new worldwide managing director effective March 1, 2018.
Mr. Maceda will succeed Bob Bechek, who is currently serving his second three-year term as Bain’s worldwide managing director. Mr. Bechek has successfully led the firm through a period of strong business momentum, with 2017 capping a six-year period of double-digit growth, investment and evolution for the future.
Mr. Maceda has been instrumental in Bain’s success and growth across the globe. He currently leads Bain’s global Full Potential Transformation practice and is a member of the firm’s board of directors. He previously served as chairman of Bain’s Asia-Pacific region and as global leader of the Performance Improvement practice and the Reengineering practice.
He also led Bain’s global recruiting program and has been the architect of many of Bain’s partner training programs. His broad global experience and knowledge of developing markets was instrumental to Mr. Maceda being selected to serve in the past on the firm’s Management, Nominating, and Global Operating Committees.
“At Bain’s core is our focus on helping clients achieve their full potential. For more than a quarter century, Manny has been leading our transformation work, shaping the way we partner with companies to change the trajectory of their businesses while delivering tangible and far-reaching results that last,” said Mr. Bechek. “As one of our most accomplished client practitioners and a true culture-carrier, Manny will build on our current momentum, fulfilling our mission to help our clients achieve such high levels of impact that together we set new standards of excellence in our respective industries.”
In his nearly three decades of being a leader in the management consulting industry, Mr. Maceda has worked with some of the most prominent CEOs and senior management teams to address their most pressing strategic issues. He specializes in full potential transformations involving mergers and acquisitions, digital transformation, organization, performance improvement, strategy, and Results Delivery®, Bain’s proprietary change management process. Additionally, he has worked with clients across a range of industries, including energy, retail, industrial products, financial services, technology, and private equity.
Prior to joining Bain in 1988, Mr. Maceda worked with E.I. Du Pont de Nemours in the engineering plastics group. He earned his M.S. in management from the MIT Sloan School of Management and graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in chemical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Mr. Maceda was born in the U.S. and raised in the Philippines before returning to the U.S. to attend university. He is currently based in San Francisco, where he has been on the forefront of helping companies that lead in the changing digital landscape.
