From our partners' views and active participation on the floor at Davos to the formal reports led by Bain industry governors, Bain's thought leadership is prominent throughout the Forum each year. At the 2018 meeting, Bain Chairman Orit Gadiesh moderated the plenary session on education: Creating a shared future through education and empowerment.

Bain's annual private breakfast, hosted by Gadiesh, convened a select group of senior business leaders to listen to Bain Partner Eric Almquist joined by guest speakers Jørgen Vig Knudstorp, Executive Chairman, of LEGO Brand Group and Maurice Lévy, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Publicis Groupe to discuss what drives customer decisions and The Elements of Value.

Accelerating the Electric Mobility Revolution

In its fourth year of collaboration with the World Economic Forum on the Future of Electricity, Bain had focused on innovation and transformation of the electricity grid at the "grid edge," along the three trends of decentralization, digitalization and electrification. The 2018 output translated into a report of recommendations to accelerate the convergence of urban mobility and energy transformations. The report has been built in collaboration with cities, energy and mobility leaders. It was launched in February 2018.

The Future of Consumption in China

The Future of Consumption System Initiative of the World Economic Forum explores how rapid pace of technological advancement can drive enhanced models of consumption with sustainable benefits for business and society, across developed and emerging markets. The Future of Consumption in Fast-Growth Consumer Markets – CHINA report highlights 4 major capabilities required for business to thrive in the China consumer market over the next decade, the 4 key societal challenges that need to be overcome through public-private cooperation, as well as possible actions to build the future business capability and overcome societal challenges. The findings were presented in a closed door session at the Future of Consumption System Initiative Stewards meeting during the WEF’s Annual Meeting.

Digital Enterprise

In the initial year of collaboration with the World Economic Forum on the Digital Enterprise project, Bain was focusing on the key questions that CEOs need to answer in order to tackle the challenges of digitalization and to successfully transform their organizations into digital enterprises.

A first iteration of findings was presented at the Governor's meeting during the Annual Meeting in Davos of the World Economic Forum in January 2018.

Industry Governors: Future of Electricity
In its third year of collaboration with the World Economic Forum on the Future of Electricity, Bain has focused on innovation and transformation of the electricity grid at the "grid edge," along the three trends of decentralization, digitalization and electrification. The 2017 output will translate into a report, to be published in March, "The Future of Electricity: Transforming the Grid Edge".
