2012 Annual Meeting

Bain & Company also hosted our annual private Davos breakfast. The topic of this year's breakfast was "The power of repeatability."

Complexity can be a silent killer of profitable growth. Successful companies endure by maintaining a form of simplicity at their core. They don't stray from, or regularly discard, their business model in pursuit of radical renovation. Instead, they build a "repeatable business model" that produces continuous improvement and allows them to rapidly adapt to change without succumbing to complexity. Companies combining a core differentiation model with speed, adaptability and simplicity are likely to land at the top of the competitor chain for long periods of time.

Featured speakers:

  • Pius Baschera, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Hilti
  • Sheryl Sandberg, Chief Operating Officer, Facebook
  • Chris Zook, Co-Head of Bain & Company’s Global Strategy practice; author of the growth trilogy Profit from the Core, Beyond the Core, and Unstoppable; author of Repeatability, to be published by Harvard Business Review Press, March 2012
