Bain actively encourages employees to pursue externship opportunities to broaden their professional development and experience. Externships allow an employee to gain hands-on experience in an industry in which they are interested. Externships typically last six months, though some people have completed twelve-month externships. Each individual is encouraged to secure the opportunity of his/her choice, with the help of Bain management.
Our people have pursued a variety of externships with nonprofit and for-profit alumni, client companies and both affiliated and non-affiliated organizations. Some employees have also structured externships with political parties and community initiatives.
