Why Bain? "After deciding that I wanted to start my career in strategy consulting, the obvious questions was 'which firm?'. In the relatively small field of true strategy consultants, Bain stood out in two things in particular. First, Bain people are truly amazing. The amount of energy they have and the level of enthusiasm they show both inside and outside the office is very motivating. Second, the constant focus on results creates an atmosphere where everybody is working towards a clear outcome."My passion at Bain and outside of the office "Outside of the office, I spend most of my time doing sports and going out with friends in one of Amsterdam's bars or clubs. A lot of colleagues like running as well and therefore there is a regular group of Bainees that participates in runs like the Amsterdam Marathon."My favorite (recent) case "On my current case our team is analyzing whether there is value in rolling out a new wireless network in the Netherlands. It is a good example of how international Bain really is. I'm directly working with a consultant from the London office who did a comparable case in Japan and we receive support from the Bain market research experts in Boston."My personal results story "Again on my current case, the Bain team had a completely different view on the outcome than our client. By hard work of the entire team and really going the extra mile we eventually made him understand our point of view.
