Choosing Bain
"I chose Bain primarily because of the connections I formed with the people in such a short period during the interview process. I found the Bain people to be extremely down to earth, kind and fun going. I believe strongly that it is the people you work with that add most to the quality of your career experience. For me the choice was between joining Bain and remaining in an engineering role. The opportunities for travel, training, further education and career development made Bain an easy choice. Also, while I loved the people in engineering, the collegiate atmosphere found at Bain and the youthfulness of most Bainees, made Bain even more attractive."
Case experience
"I have been involved in work in the telecommunications industry as well as helping out on some pro bono work for a reputable Australian charity."
Bain people
"I love the people at Bain most of all. I also love the responsibility and level of work I am given, even at a junior level in the company. It is great to be able to take ownership for a stream of work and see it through to completion."
Flexible environment
"Within one month of joining Bain I was forced to go in for major knee surgery that left me on crutches for many months. Bain was been amazingly understanding, supportive and helpful. They gave me the time off I needed for recovery as well as assigning me to work that did not require any travel or much movement around town. They went above and beyond what was expected and even necessary."
An opportunity to learn
"The training at Bain is extremely structured and of an extremely high quality. The formal learning process does not stop when you walk through the door. Bain provides the perfect mix between on the job experience and textbook training in order to optimise your career progression."
Outside the office
"I rowed in the Australian Rowing Team in 2005 and continue my love for the sport. While I do not train to compete anymore, I love going for long runs and spending time in the gym. I love to sing and am a member of my local choir that rehearses and performs once per week. In recent years I have become a lover of the theatre and attend regular plays put on by the Sydney Theatre Company."
