Joining Bain
"After graduating, I travelled around a bit and then
worked for ~6 months for Donaldson, a filter and strainer
manufacturer. I went to a Bain recruiting event at Monterrey Tech,
passed the test, got the interview and became an AC in the Dallas
office. I spent 2.5 years in the Dallas office, as part of the
Latin American practice, then spent 2 years in the Australian
practice, before getting an MBA at INSEAD and returning to Sydney
in 2009."
Work experience
"I have worked at Bain for over 5 years in the Dallas,
Mexico City, Amsterdam, Sao Paulo, Sydney and Melbourne offices. I
have worked in 7 different countries including America, Europe and
Australasia, in industries as different as Airlines, Telecom, Beer,
Retail and Food.
The type of work I have been exposed to is as varied; Turnaround,
Process improvement, Full potential, Due diligence and Strategic
planning."
Transfer experience
"I had a 6-month experience transfer to the Sydney office from
November 2005 to April 2006. I worked in a big Telco case and
discovered a new level of complexity as 8 Bain teams formed with
people from around the world worked at the same client on
interdependent issues. I was amazed to see that Bain, regardless of
geographical location, works as one firm: same rules, same
workstyle and very similar people profile. This made the adjustment
very easy. In fact, I liked my experience so much, I asked for a
permanent transfer to the Australian practice and, after 4 months
back in my home office, I returned to be part of the Melbourne
office!"
Outside the office
"My previous client used to make fun of me and the other consultant
in our team, Nuno. My boyfriend is a Bainee and Nuno's girlfriend
works for a former client of his. We told the client we had no
option -it's the people we spend 90% of our time with! Outside of
work, I like travelling and good food and wine. I do power yoga,
and I try to weave in my passion for dancing and karaoke in
ventures such as the Bain Band."
