Life as a consultant can be hard, but it is also very rewarding. You have the opportunity to work with a small group of highly talented people on some of the most exciting business issues around.
The job also includes some travel, although the tradition at Bain Brussels is to work as much as possible from our office. Many of our consultants are married, some have children. All want to preserve their personal lives, and Bain is very supportive and mindful of this.
Leave-of-absence and part-time programmes have been developed to allow our consultants to increase their personal time when they need it (e.g., extended maternity leave, round-the-world trip, start-up of one’s own business and so on). Many Bain consultants do take advantage of such programmes during their careers.
The atmosphere in the office is friendly and informal. "Business casual dress" is the norm when no client meetings are scheduled. Numerous social events and parties are organised throughout the year, ranging from yearly office retreats to museum visits or Friday beers. As often as possible, significant others and children are invited along, further reinforcing a sense of community and family.
