Manu is a manager in the New Delhi office. He attended the Indian Institute of Technology at Kanpur, where he obtained a Bachelors of Technology in electrical engineering. He continued his education with an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management at Bangalore. At work Manu has been involved with the Bain Prayas, a corporate social responsibility arm in India.
Choosing Bain

Entrepreneurial spirit
"My desire to be an entrepreneur sooner rather than later saw me quitting a cozy corporate finance job with FedEx in Tokyo to start my own venture in India. When that didn't take off, I worked for a few start-ups only to find that working for start-ups doesn't always satisfy the entrepreneurial urge. That's when I decided to get into consulting and joined Bain in the New Delhi office. Consulting, I have found, gives you more opportunities to be entrepreneurial than any other job. Here you work on solving some of the most important issues faced by the CEOs and are not a small cog in a big corporate wheel."
Case experience
"While at Bain, the industries I have worked on range from technology to pharmaceuticals to aviation. In terms of capabilities, I have worked on cost-reduction strategy, outsourcing strategy, business due diligence for a private equity client and more. I am also a part of Bain Prayas, Bain's CSR program, and have derived immense satisfaction from being able to work for the betterment of the society at large."
