bain-philanthropy-report-cover-2011Bain India Philanthropy Report
Bain & Company’s India Philanthropy Report 2011 explores the latest trends in philanthropy in India as the country’s economy expands and the number of wealthy individuals increases. Bain’s analysis of private giving data, including a survey of more than 300 wealthy individuals and interviews with philanthropists provides thought-provoking insights about the future of Indian philanthropy. The report comes at a time when an increasing number of financially secure Indians and corporate leaders are looking for ways to more effectively help the country’s less fortunate citizens.

Child education
Bain Prayas collaborates with nonprofit organisations (NGOs) to promote children’s education. At present, we are working with five schools in Gurgaon, focussing our efforts on their libraries and special education programs. We organise fund-raising events regularly to support these initiatives.

Pro bono consulting
We support Indian and international NGOs on strategic issues. We have provided our consulting services for free to NGOs and foundations like Child Rights and You (CRY) and the Clinton Foundation, and intend to do more pro bono work in the future.

Bain Community Day
Bain Community Day is our endeavour to engage a large cross-section of the office in our community initiatives. Bain India holds an annual Community Day each year to create a tangible impact on the local community.

The inaugural event in 2007 involved refurbishing a girls' school with better infrastructure. In 2008, Bain India partnered with Habitat for Humanity, a global NGO, to help construct homes for the underprivileged on the border of Delhi. The office was closed for the day and all employees participated in the home-building initiative.

Our Green initiatives
We consistently work to make Bain India more "green". Some of our green initiatives in the office include reduction of plastic consumption and optimising paper usage.
