Recruiting process

Some advice for your cv

  • One page, maximum two; use a simple layout that makes it easy to read
  • A cover letter is preferable
  • Try to personalize your cv by highlighting the qualities/experiences that the company is looking for

The interview process

The interview process generally consists of two rounds; during the first round you will have two 45-minute interviews with two managers, during which you will be asked to discuss one or more business cases.

The process frequently includes a motivational interview with the HR manager. Candidates who get through the first round are invited to the second and final round consisting of two case-based interviews with partners. On the basis of the recruiting needs at the time, the candidates who get through the entire process successfully receive an offer to join Bain & Company Italy.

Motivational interview

As with the case-based interview, the objective of this interview is to get to know each other. The Bain recruiter is available to describe Bain and to address any questions. At the same time the recruiter will be looking for indicators showing your talent, problem-solving and leadership skills, as well as interpersonal abilities and general motivation and drive.

Some advice for the motivational interview

  • Do not ask what the company can do for you but show that you are interested in learning, in contributing to the company's success, in staying on in the long term
  • Prepare an example of a situation/problem that you handled successfully and that can be comparable to a consulting situation

Case interviews

The interview centered on a business case represents an opportunity for you to understand the sort of assignments we actually work on and for us to understand how you would handle a true-to-life business issue.

We are not looking for "the right answer" or theory; we prefer to see a good amount of effective problem-solving abiliyu, logic and creativity mixed with common sense! We hope these interviews are an intellectually stimulating and enjoyable way of getting acquainted with Bain.
