Why Bain?

To be able to have an impact early in my career was important to me. Bain presented the opportunity to not only work with industry-leading clients to solve their most difficult problems, but also to contribute to solving these problems in the most junior position.

My passion

I have always had a big passion for working on charitable causes. Pre-Bain, this ranged from building homes with Habitat for Humanity whilst growing up in Thailand to helping raise over £5,000 for Save the Children in a carnival parade through Cambridge. At Bain, I have worked on a few ‘extra 10%’ cases which have ranged from working with a start-up on an online fundraising platform to helping a fast-growing social enterprise craft their five-year business plan.

I also love to travel and am a big foodie.

My favorite case

My favourite case at Bain was also my first. We worked for a manufacturer of hospital injectables to determine how they should approach expanding their range of products. I was involved in conducting expert interviews and focus groups with doctors, nurses and pharmacists all over Europe and the US, as well as launching an internet survey. We had a great collaborative working relationship with the client leadership team, and I was provided the opportunity to make a significant contribution to cracking the case from day one.

My personal results story

Our team was working for a large biotech company who needed to invest in launching several new drugs in the coming five years, whilst also reducing costs. Working closely with their leadership team, we were able to develop an innovative organisational model and launch plan for the company, which would help them to re-organise for success. Following the Bain-led client workshop, where our work was presented to the European Executive team, we were all personally thanked by the company's Head of Europe for helping them to solve such a difficult problem.

A final thought

I have never come across a group of people as interesting and diverse as I have at Bain, so take the opportunity to meet as many people as possible!
