What is your background pre-Bain? And what is your
current role at Bain and how long have you been
here?
After graduating with a degree in Land Economy from Cambridge, I
completed my accountancy training as an auditor at a Big Four firm.
I have now been at Bain for a year, and am an Associate
Consultant.
How would you describe your role at Bain? What have been
your most memorable case experiences? What are the results
(client-related as well as internal) of which you are most
proud?
I would describe my role at Bain as challenging, varied and
fun!
A large part of the case experience is shaped by the team you work
with - I have definitely had the pleasure of working on great
teams! We have worked hard together to achieve the best results we
can for our clients, but through this, I have not only learnt a
huge amount but also found real friends and mentors.
I think the most satisfying part of this job is when you see real
changes (however small they are) occurring at your client as a
result of work in which you have directly been involved. One of
these moments for me was when I had been involved in building a
pricing model for our client - a couple of months later when I was
catching up them, they made a point of telling me how much they
were using it and how useful it had become. It was a very rewarding
moment!
Finally, tell us three interesting facts about yourself/
your interests outside of work.
I used to play lacrosse for Scotland
I now enjoy a variety of other sports including skiing and
tennis
I love shoes!
