What did you do pre-Bain?
I have been with Bain since graduating in 1992.
What is your role at Bain? How long have you been here?
I have been at Bain almost 20 years. During that time I have had a variety of roles including client consulting, staffing and PD, and knowledge development. I currently have two roles—the first is as Senior Director of our Global Organisation Practice. In this role I help develop cutting edge new techniques to help our clients tackle the organisational issues they are facing. I also engage with clients and teams to turn these insights into practical actions and results. My second role is running our global social impact initiative, Bain Cares.
What are the results of which you are most proud in Bain Cares London?
I am most personally proud of the thousands of homeless people we have helped back into work through the Business Action on Homelessness initiative. I have been involved with them since the very beginning when Bain did a pro bono assignment to develop the launch strategy. Twelve years later, I serve on the London Steering Group and lead pro bono assignments as we continue to support progress of this great initiative.
That said, Bain London has made a big impact on many other organisations over the years. We have formal “results partnerships” with the Private Equity Foundation and the Social Business Trust. Our Sounding Board programme pairs senior Bain with the CEOs of UK charities for mentoring and advice. We have over 15 non-profits participating in this programme, including Action for Children and Action Against Hunger UK.
