Louise
Associate Consultant,
London
What is your background pre-Bain? And what is your
current role at Bain and how long have you been
here?
Before Bain, I studied English Language and Literature at Oxford
University. After graduation, I spent a couple of months travelling
in South East Asia, before starting in the Bain London office in
September 2010 as an Associate Consultant.
How would you describe your role at Bain? What have been
your most memorable case experiences? What are the results
(client-related as well as internal) of which you are most
proud?
As an Associate Consultant, my role involves a lot of research and
analytical work to provide the evidence to back up our team's
answers to our client's questions.
My first case was a pro-bono project for an educational charity
struggling with the budget cuts made by the coalition government.
It was great to work on something that had a really tangible goal -
to make sure that the charity could keep providing a valuable
service to disadvantaged primary school pupils.
How would you describe your role at Bain? What have been
your most memorable case experiences? What are the results
(client-related as well as internal) of which you are most
proud?
I recently took time off work to travel to Kenya and Tanzania, and
climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, whilst I
was there
I'm learning the geography of London, not to mention survival
skills and self defence, by cycling to and from work
I love to ski, and if I hadn't joined Bain, I like to think I'd be
doing a season to get my instructor's qualification
