Why did you want to get involved in Bain Cares?
I worked for NGOs in Peru and Senegal for a year prior to joining Bain, and wanted to continue to be involved in not-for-profits, while making the most of the business exposure Bain offers. The Bain Cares Fund offered a way to get involved as an "extra 10%", alongside a normal caseload, and apply the lessons I was learning about strategy and management to social sector initiatives
What is your involvement?
Within the Bain Cares Fund, I have worked on running our bi-annual funding rounds and supporting our office-wide events. Through this, I have researched and assisted around 20 charities with their project proposals in the last year. As the Bain Cares Fund was started fairly recently, the environment is very entrepreneurial and I have also been able to work on a variety of new initiatives, including setting up a core process to increase the efficiency of future rounds
