While it sounds a bit cliché, I recommend to recruits that they focus on being the best version of themselves during the interview process. Recruitment is a very personal process – everybody has a different experience with different needs. double-quote-close

Why Bain?

While interviewing with multiple consulting firms, I got a dramatically different impression about the culture and people at each firm. I felt Bain was especially collaborative and energizing during interviews, and that stayed with me. After visiting the LA office I was legitimately excited about joining this team.

My passion

I get a lot of enjoyment out of recruiting. I was fortunate enough to find Bain through a strong on-campus recruiting program at my graduate school, so I love giving back by participating in information sessions and helping coach recruits.

My favorite case

My favorite case was a recent due diligence project for a private equity firm assessing whether to acquire a retail cosmetics company. It was my first exposure to Bain’s private equity toolkit and it was a great learning experience. Plus, my workstream was really interesting. I was responsible for interviewing retail experts to identify new trends and growth opportunities in cosmetics.

A final thought

While it sounds a bit cliché, I recommend to recruits that they focus on being the best version of themselves during the interview process. Recruitment is a very personal process – everybody has a different experience with different needs. Try to avoid getting caught up in how other people are preparing and focus on what you need to do to be at your best for interviews. And take advantage of your classmates with Bain experience!
