Focus on enduring values in ten years

The retailing industry's environmental changes have determined the success and failure of numerous businesses, transforming the industry dynamics. For example, in the United States, such “disruption” that fundamentally changes the industry has repeated itself every 50 years. The focus of the industry has shifted from department stores in the 1860s, shopping malls in the 1910s, hypermarkets in the 1960s to online in the 2010s. As a result, hardly any of the top 10 retailers in the 1970s remain in the top list. What changes will unfold in the next decade? What strategy do we need to survive and adapt to such changes?
