Private Equity Ownership and Management

One of the newest trends in Korea is the emergence and popularity of private equity funds in so called buyout markets. Private equity is a form of private funds managed by a group of individuals using investors' money, mainly to purchase and resell companies. Most Korean funds are called minority stake funds, in which they have a minority control of the company and therefore a lower impact. In a sense, this is very similar to a debt fund, in which money is lent to target companies with same guarantee of interest rates.
