Jitaek Chung is the leader of the Financial Services &
Industrial Goods practices in Bain's Seoul office. Since joining
Bain in 1995, he has worked on diverse projects for large Korean
and multi-national companies, financial institutions and the public
sector. His extensive experience covers corporate & business
unit strategy, re-organization, M&A strategy and business
process re-engineering. In the recent years, he has led corporate
transformation and performance enhancement efforts for large
financial institutions including banks, insurers, brokerage firms
and credit card companies.
Prior to joining Bain, Jitaek was mainly involved in the
anti-dumping lawsuit cases for the Korean steel industry at Samjong
KPMG and Samil Pricewaterhouse Coopers as a certified public
accountant (CPA). In 1999, he joined purchasing strategy project
for an auto parts manufacturer at Bain Capital based in Boston.
Chung received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Seoul
National University and earned his MBA from The Wharton School,
University of Pennsylvania.
