Why Bain?
Without question: the people. After spending my summer with Bain in
2007 it was clear that this was a fun, smart, and supportive group
that I'd want to be a part of.
We all know that Bain is a great place to work, but what I still
find truly impressive is the collective effort put forth by the
employees to make it absolute best.
My passion at Bain and outside of the
office?
I've always been very passionate about sports. I played varsity
volleyball throughout University, and still compete regularly with
a club team in Toronto. At Bain I thrive on the team atmosphere,
similar to that of a sport's team. I take great pride in the way we
work together to meet difficult goals and solve tough problems.
My favorite (recent) case
Last Fall I had the opportunity to work on a customer strategy for
a large national retailer. Over the course of 4 months, we helped
them identify their most important customers and put together a
roadmap to better serve that group. It was very interesting to see
the thinking going on 'behind the scenes' for an organization that
is so readily visible in our day to day lives.
My personal results story
After a year at Bain, I've had the opportunity to work on some
interesting projects in a variety of industries. On my first case,
I drew insights from a nationwide survey which formed the basis of
a customer strategy for a national retailer. On the next one, I
deployed a survey of North American financial advisors to come up
with a forward looking view on financial services distribution.
Most recently, I've been working on a strategy overhaul for a
global telecom equipment provider.
A final thought
Bain is a great place to get an incredible learning experience
while working with a great group of people. Some spend their entire
career at Bain while others stay for just a few years, but I've
never come across a current or former Bainie that didn't have an
overall positive experience.
