Phil is a manager in the Toronto office. He joined Bain in 2002
as an associate consultant intern, and rejoined the company
full-time after his graduation from Queen's University, where he
studied electrical engineering. In January 2007 he will pursue his
MBA at the INSEAD School of Business, located outside of Paris,
France.
While at Bain, Phil's work in the financial services,
transportation, private equity, and industrial products industries
has brought him to Latin America, Europe, and South East Asia; in
the fall of 2005 he worked in the Singapore office, helping to turn
around an Asian-based airline. Over time his role has evolved
within his case teams, from supporting analyst to owning client
relationships.
Joining Bain
"I chose Bain because of the diversity of experiences and great
learning environment. Everyday is a completely new set of
challenges. Great people and strong mentoring make it possible to
learn so much on the job. For me, this is what set Bain apart from
the other companies."
International opportunities
"Working in Asia was challenging at first: the culture took some
getting used to. But I was glad to get the experience at this stage
in my career. Business is global, but success is driven by
understanding the local environment and being sensitive
to differences."
Outside the office
"When in Toronto, I like to race mountain bikes and wakeboard with
my university friends."
