Why Bain?

I knew Bain was the right choice for me at the dinner before my final round interview. The purpose of the dinner was to meet the interviewers to make the interview experience less intimidating. Therefore, I was expecting a fairly formal and professional atmosphere, as there were partners and senior managers attending. Contrary to my expectations, the dinner was extremely enjoyable and entertaining. By the end of the dinner I was crying from laughing so hard and completely fell in love with the Bain culture. I wanted to work with people I genuinely like and that dinner was the cue I needed to show Bain was the best choice.

My favorite case

Currently I’m working on an extremely interesting underground mining case. I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience thus far, due to our amazing team and the engaged client. These two factors are the largest drivers in creating high quality work, which is very rewarding. Despite being a junior member of the team, I am consistently given the opportunity to contribute to the solution. As well, I had the unique experience of receiving a mining license and going 1km underground for 8 hours.

My perspective on diversity at Bain

I believe Bain invests heavily in promoting office connectivity. An example of this is the Woman at Bain group. Their goal is to help build successful long-term careers and to provide an open forum to raise key career questions to initiate discussion. It is an amazing society that promotes connectedness and provides support among women at Bain on a personal and professional basis. They provide learning, mentoring, networking and personal development opportunities through various events held throughout the year.

A final thought

My experience at Bain has been phenomenal and I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to work for Bain. When interviewing for consulting firms I recommend being yourself and choosing the firm that you have the best connection with. The people you work with are the largest driver of job satisfaction.
