Investing resources and expertise to ignite progress in racial equity and social justice
Beyond our own walls and our work with clients, Bain and all of our corporate peers have a responsibility to promote and improve DEI in society at large. This includes working to promote equity for historically disadvantaged populations and removing systemic barriers to dignity and prosperity, whether by addressing the racial wealth gap, reducing health disparities, or standing up against systemic disenfranchisement.
Last year, we committed an additional $100 million in pro bono investment over a five-year period to address these issues, collaborating with innovative social sector organizations to bring our expertise and tools to bear to support their missions. This commitment was an addition to Bain’s standing commitment of $1 billion in pro bono investment to social impact over 10 years, which also includes racial equity and social justice efforts inside education, environment, and global development work.
A signature example of these investments is Bain’s role as a founding partner and member of OneTen, a coalition of more than 45 companies across industries committed to hiring, training, and promoting 1 million Black Americans over the next 10 years into family-sustaining jobs with opportunities for advancement. OneTen member companies also commit to improving retention, training, and advancement and to sharing best practices with each other to go beyond providing entry-level jobs to support careers.
