Overview of the Program
The Be Bold MBA Scholarship is a scholarship program open to those who identify as female or non-binary at the start of their business school journey and are interested in a career in consulting in Australia.
In addition to a monetary award of USD $10,000 to put towards your studies, you’ll also receive:
- One on one mentorship from a Bain leader for a whole year
- A week-long trip to Australia before commencing your studies
- The opportunity to join our 10-week Summer Associate program in one of our Australian offices

We encourage you to apply if you meet the following criteria:
- Identify as female or non-binary
- Have working rights or qualify for a visa sponsorship
- Are interested in a full time position in Australia and are enrolled at an EU or US MBA school
- A record of strong professional and/or academic achievement
- Drive and passion to solve difficult problems
- Great communication skills and are active in your community or extracurricular activities
How to Apply
Please prepare your CV and address the statement in your cover letter: Describe an achievement you are most proud of and tell us what interests you about working in Australia.
When you apply, you will be asked to choose 3 offices you are interested in. To be considered, please select one or all 3 of the Australian offices.

What does the interview process look like?
Once the deadline has passed, eligible selected candidates will be invited to interview.
The first round of interviews includes two case interviews. The second round of interviews includes one case interview and one behavioural based interview. Please find more information on case interviews here. -
What does the one week long trip to Australia include?
Be immersed in our Australian culture in either Melbourne or Sydney. You will have exposure to an active case and case team as well as explore various parts of the country and experience some of the amazing food and dining Australia has to offer.

Are there set dates for the 10 week Summer Associate program in Australia?
The Summer Associate Program runs from June to August each year. To help you with planning, we will let you know the specific dates if you are successful.

Do I need to have a consulting background to be able to apply for the program?
No, you do not need to have experience in consulting, we accept applicants from all backgrounds for this scholarship. Bain provides formal and informal training and development opportunities to ensure you are provided with the right tools to be successful in your role.

Do I need to have working rights in Australia to be eligible for this program?
In order to be eligible for The Be Bold MBA Scholarship, you must already hold working rights for Australia or qualify for visa sponsorship. Please refer to the Australian Government website for further information.

Can I still apply to other roles/programs if I’m unsuccessful for the scholarship?
We have limited spots for this program, but your application may be considered for other programs you have applied for pending the application requirements.
We encourage you to apply for a position regardless of the outcome of your application.
