Bain Academy Executive Programs

South Africa

The Bain Academy Executive Programme is a holistic and practical approach to developing managers into executives and future CEOs. The curriculum and content has been developed in conjunction with global experts from Bain & Company and some of South Africa's leading CEOs.

Programme

Programme

The programme is built on three pillars that focus on the tools we believe executives need to drive change in organisations: strategy, strategy execution, and self and team.

It runs part-time over a three-month period and is comprised of:

  • 21 classroom-based modules delivered by a mix of senior directors (local and international) and global practice area leaders from Bain & Company, and best-in-class international third-party experts
  • Six inspirational speaker discussions with leading South African leaders of national influence that complement the classroom sessions
  • A company project designed to solve a real business problem that an organisation faces using the toolkits and frameworks delivered in the classroom, as well as insights gleaned from the trainers and speakers

Participant Criteria

Participant Criteria

To ensure the highest calibre of delegates in each cohort, the Bain Academy partners with no more than two to three companies in South Africa each year. Working closely with the company's CEO and his/her executive team, a group of four to six future leaders are hand-picked from each company to participate in the programme.

Bain Academy Trust

Through Bain & Company's work with some of South Africa's top companies and executives, the firm has seen first-hand the talent challenges our clients face. Leveraging our deep expertise as the top-ranked consulting firm globally for training, our experience in supporting our clients in South Africa, and our desire to give something back to the business community and the country, Bain & Company established and funded the Bain Academy Trust.

Through the Trust, we have created what we believe is a world-class executive training programme targeted at high-performing, high-potential historically disadvantaged South Africans (HDSAs) who exhibit executive potential within the next three to five years.
