I joined Bain through the FRWD acquisition in 2018. As president and partner, I partnered with the founder in 2015 to put the company on solid footing, build the team and sell it. We had always dreamed of FRWD becoming a “Best Place to Work,” so selling to Bain was an instant win.
How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?
FRWD and Bain just clicked after our first project with a casual dining restaurant chain. The partners who brought us in went out on a limb, trusted and supported us. We learned so much in that first year and it felt amazing. We partner on many more projects after that before being acquired, and the experience was pretty much the same every time.
Do you feel like you can do impactful work at Bain? What opportunities excite you?
Bain has enabled us to scale our untraditional methods and skillsets beyond what we imagined by helping us grow the core Minneapolis office, open new hubs around the world and attract the best marketing talent. We’re now able to work with the world’s most sophisticated marketers with high confidence that we’ll unlock huge opportunities even they haven’t envisioned.
Despite all the scaling already, we’re just getting started and have so much ahead. The pace of change is only going to increase in the next 10 years with automation and data, and we’re in the perfect position to help clients navigate that change.
Share some of your favorite work (personal or professional) you’ve done while at Bain.
Helping a large corporate spinoff reinvent their approach to brand marketing and doing it just as the Covid-19 pandemic hit, stands out for sure. More recently, we engaged with one of the world’s most iconic brands to help unlock their next phase of growth. To see client teams light up, be so energized by what we’ve accomplished together and be so energized by changing how the work, is pretty cool and fun.
