Natan Shklyar

Partner, New York


Natan Shklyar is a partner and director based in Bain's New York office. He is a member of the firm’s global Oil & Gas, Private Equity and Energy & Natural Resources practices.

He has nearly 20 years of experience and was previously a partner in Bain's Moscow office.

Natan has advised leading oil and gas companies on topics ranging from major organizational and cultural transformations to developing technology strategies. He has advised private equity firms on their fund strategy and operations, performed numerous due diligences and helped their portfolio companies with both strategy and performance improvement. He also has served clients in many other industries, including industrials, consumer goods, retail and utilities.

Natan has worked extensively in the areas of strategy, operations, supply chain, purchasing and organizational redesign.

Prior to joining Bain, Natan was a director and managing partner at Arthur D. Little, Inc. where he ran their New York office and the US private equity practice. Before that, he was a partner in charge of the US private equity practice at Droege & Comp., and prior to that he was with two other consulting firms.

Before becoming a management consultant, Natan worked in international public policy at the EastWest Institute, a leading think-tank based in New York City.

Natan earned his MBA from Columbia Business School (with Beta Gamma Sigma distinction), and his BA in Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs (Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude) from Miami University of Ohio, where he was a Benjamin Harrison Scholar.
