Vice President, Bain Capability Network - New Delhi

Sobre Satyanand

Hi, I'm Satya. I joined the Bain Capability Network in March 2009 to head the software team in India, with the mandate of designing mission-critical applications for the firm. Currently I head Shared Services operations at the BCN, which includes the Software Operations, Marketing and Human Capital teams, supporting other global function heads. My journey at Bain has been very fulfilling—I've led Bain India’s social impact efforts and had the opportunity to lead the measurement work stream of the India@75 initiative of CII.

From time to time, I like to reinvent my role and develop newer capabilities. When the BCN outgrew its old space, I took the challenge to build the new state-of-the-art office to cater to our growth needs. I focus on automating processes and improving operational efficiencies.

"Bain has been my dream job so far, enabling me to progress in my career, do challenging work and also develop personally. The firm invests a lot in its people in so many different ways, and helps you grow as a socially responsible citizen."

Before Bain, I worked in various roles in software and services companies. I worked at IBM in the United States for about six years, managing one of the key client portfolios for the firm. I was also in charge of developing payment gateway solutions for Religare in India, where I worked toward getting the firm its CMMI accreditation.

I have an undergraduate degree in computer engineering and completed the Executive Programme in Business Management from IIM Calcutta. I'm also a PMI-certified Project Management Professional.

Technology is my passion, and I enjoy engaging discussions on how technology can improve quality of life. Being a father to 11-year-old twins has taught me how to be more patient with things in my personal and professional life. I love to travel, particularly to the mountains. I also love to sing in my leisure time, and I appreciate light Indian music.
