WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll join our Product Management & Innovation experts within the AI, Insights & Solutions team. This team is part of Bain’s digital capabilities practice, which includes experts in analytics, engineering, product management, and design. In this multidisciplinary environment, you'll leverage deep technical expertise with business acumen to help clients tackle their most transformative challenges. You’ll work on integrated teams alongside our general consultants and clients to develop data-driven strategies and innovative solutions. WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
As an Expert Senior Manager, Product Management & Innovation, based in São Paulo, you’ll work on integrated teams alongside our general consultants and clients to lead the development of omnichannel solutions across a wide range of industries and challenges. You’ll drive the strategic vision with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful, feasible, and client-aligned experiences, products, and businesses.
You bring a passion for designing and developing customer-centric, innovative solutions, a strong foundation in product development, technical aptitude, and a collaborative mindset. With a focus on driving innovation, you’ll work closely with engineering, design, and strategy teams to explore emerging technologies, validate new ideas, and guide agile development from research and planning through execution. You’ll contribute to high-impact, client-facing solutions while continuing to build your technical and strategic skills in a fast-paced, experimentation- and data-driven environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Apply human-centered design to product strategy and innovation
• Integrate human-centered design into product strategy, aligning research with business and customer goals and translating insights into product vision.
• Guide ideation sessions, journey mapping, and service design workshops to align teams around user-centric solutions.
• Lead collaboration with design and research teams on prototyping and testing, ensuring continuous validation while balancing user needs, reliable technology solutions, and business priorities.
Lead delivery of proofs of concept (POCs), minimum viable products (MVPs), and products
• Translate business needs into detailed technical requirements, partnering with engineering and design teams to align on scope, feasibility, and acceptance criteria before development begins.
• Lead work planning and sprint planning ceremonies, owning the product backlog, sequencing user stories, and maintaining delivery velocity across agile cycles.
• Problem-solve development challenges in real time, unblocking engineering teams by clarifying requirements, negotiating scope, and making rapid trade-off decisions.
• Engage directly with clients throughout the build to validate direction, surface emerging needs, and co-develop solutions that meet business and user expectations.
• Deliver regular showcases and status updates to senior client stakeholders, communicating progress, risks, and decisions in clear, non-technical language.
• Ensure effective handoffs between design, engineering, QA, and client teams, maintaining continuity and quality at every transition.
• Develop change management plans for the implementation of new processes and digital products, preparing client organizations for adoption and sustained usage.
• Create dashboards and KPI frameworks to measure product success, user adoption, and business impact, incorporating telemetry from day one.
• Lead end-to-end testing cycles, including UAT, usability testing, and acceptance criteria validation, ensuring software meets user and business expectations before release.
Contribute to building an inspired team
• Co-lead integrated case teams comprising consultants, engineers, designers, and client counterparts, coordinating across workstreams to maintain alignment and drive delivery toward shared outcomes.
• Manage day-to-day team dynamics and cross-functional collaboration, resolving ambiguity, sequencing priorities, and maintaining momentum in complex, fast-moving environments.
• Quickly integrate into client organizations, building credibility and influence with stakeholders at all levels through consistent engagement, clear communication, and demonstrated delivery.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture across AIS, Bain, and client teams, creating psychological safety and shared ownership of results.
Build capabilities and skills across AIS, Bain, and client teams
• Mentor junior team members while continuing to build your own skills in human-centered design, agile methodologies, technical fluency, and innovation-driven product management.
• Capture and share learnings from client work to strengthen institutional knowledge within AIS and Bain communities.
• Maintain a curious and proactive mindset, adopting emerging tools and technologies, including generative AI, to boost productivity and enhance team outcomes.
ABOUT YOU
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience delivering innovation in consulting, technology, industry, or startup environments.
• Proficiency in using insights to guide product decisions that balance business value, technical feasibility, user needs, and business goals, including the ability to lead across multiple dimensions simultaneously.
• Proficiency in product management for software development, with hands-on experience in AI solutions.
• Experience effectively using generative AI-powered product development tools.
• Experience applying design thinking principles and leading or facilitating workshops that support the design thinking and innovation process.
• Ability to clearly explain the technical aspects of products you have worked on.
• Ability to rapidly absorb and interpret technical information, with a deep understanding of modern design and development principles.
• Experience applying agile and Scrum methodologies to lead cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Lean Startup methodology and applying its principles.
• Experience managing the architecture and implementation of AI or technology solutions at enterprise scale is a plus.
• Ability to manage cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, designers, and researchers.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain and discuss solution approaches and technical concepts with colleagues and clients from other disciplines.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively in complex and ambiguous situations, with a passion for delivering high-impact client results in fast-paced, evolving environments.
• Curiosity, proactivity, and critical thinking.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with people at all levels and across offices and regions.
• Spanish language proficiency is highly preferred.
WORKING LOCATION AND TRAVEL
This position is based in São Paulo.
This role requires a minimum of three days per week working together in person, either at a client location or at your Bain home office.
Travel is required. This position requires regional travel away from your home office/primary working location. Travel frequency and destinations will vary based on project needs, approximately 50% of the time.
