Dria James

Dria James is the Americas lead for our Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) team.

In her role, Dria spearheads our DEI strategy and plans for the Americas region, which includes developing and implementing strategies to ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion are embedded in our regional processes, programs, and culture initiatives. She works closely with the Americas senior team to set region-wide DEI goals, support the development of plans to progress towards our goals and enable execution in the line and drive equity in our talent management processes.

Dria joined Bain in 2017 and prior to her current role, she led the firm’s retention, and development strategy for Black, Latinx, and Asian employees across North America.   During her time at Bain, Dria has designed and executed programming and efforts for our Blacks at Bain, Latinx at Bain, and Asians at Bain affinity groups which include our annual diversity conferences and developed targeted talent strategies such as our “Ring of Support” initiative.  She has also played a critical role in launching and hosting the firm’s Juneteenth Day of Learning program for the Americas, establishing the firm’s 7 commitments to promoting racial equity and social justice, and establishing Bain as an award-winning ‘best place to work’ for diversity.  

Prior to joining Bain, she served as a vice president in the Human Capital Management Division at Goldman Sachs and holds a Bachelor’s of Science from Cornell University.
