Consultant, Munich

Profilo di Jan

My name is Jan, and I'm a consultant in the Munich office. I joined Bain as an intern last year. During my internship I worked on a project at an automotive supplier in Germany. Since I liked it a lot—I had a really great team and it was a great topic—I knew consulting was what I wanted to do.

"When I came back as an AC after the internship, I continued to work in the automotive industry."

Although we try to get exposure to different industries, we can ask staffing for certain preferences. So, for example, if you want to have a project in banking or a project in retail, they will do everything to make it possible. On the one hand, it's a really great opportunity to see different industries, and on the other hand also enable you to engage with the industry that you like the most.

At Bain the training is very important. In your first days, you'll get an introduction to the firm, followed by a weeklong training bootcamp close to Munich, where all the new German and Swiss ACs and consultants come together. That's followed by the global training, which takes place in the US. Training really is a great part of the Bain experience, and it's something that never stops.

Bain has a very international setup; the teams on my projects have been very diverse. People come together from different European and even global offices to work on a specific topic, which is a great cultural and professional experience.
