Building Entrepreneurial Leaders (BEL) Program
Building Entrepreneurial Leaders (BEL) Program
We are pleased to host the Building Entrepreneurial Leaders program, a week-long sophomore diversity program designed to give undergraduate students an opportunity to learn first-hand what it is like to be a consultant.
Program Overview
Program Overview
The Building Entrepreneurial Leaders (BEL) Program is focused on giving high-achieving undergraduate sophomore/second year students who identify as Black, Hispanic/Latinx or Indigenous (Native American, Alaska Native, Inuit, Métis and First Nations), the opportunity to strengthen their business and leadership skill set while gaining exposure to one of the world’s top strategy consulting firms.
The BEL Program is available in US offices and Toronto and is held in early summer so that students have the rest of the summer to fulfill other summer obligations. Specific dates will be shared with applicants selected to participate.
The 2023 application has closed.
Victor shares how the BEL program was his first step in building a community at Bain.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Will BEL programs be in-person or virtual in 2023?
We’re planning for an in-person program in the early summer but are monitoring the COVID situation closely and will adjust to a fully virtual format if needed. Candidates should be prepared, at minimum, to interview virtually in 2023.
Bain is very confident in our ability to deliver an engaging and supportive virtual experience. We successfully offered the program virtually in 2020 & 2021 and extended the highest number of Associate Consultant Intern offers to date! Our teams are accustomed to virtual working arrangements and supporting team members who are working from home.
-
Are non-US citizens eligible to participate in BEL?
Non-US citizens are eligible to participate. However, all BEL participants must attend university in the US or Canada.
-
When does the BEL interview take place? What is the interview process like?
Interviews will take place in late March and early April. There will be one round of interviews, consisting of two, 30-minute “case-like” discussions. Our BEL team will host interview preparation webinars, discussing in detail the interview format and what to expect.
-
When will BEL decisions be communicated?
Program decisions will be communicated by early April.
-
What offices host BEL programs? How are participants assigned to a Bain office for BEL?
The BEL Program is available in our US and Toronto offices. We do our best to place BEL participants in one of their most preferred offices, taking into consideration candidate and office availability in early summer.
-
If I’m not selected for BEL, can I still apply to Bain in the future?
Absolutely, and we encourage it! BEL is a highly selective program; if you are not selected for BEL, we would like to stay connected regarding the Associate Consultant Intern role. Several past BEL applicants (who did not participate in the program), have joined us as Associate Consultant Interns.
-
I’m already interviewing for a summer 2024 internship. Is there an option to interview early for the ACI role?
