Francisco Barnes

Francisco Barnes is an expert in the firm's Energy & Natural Resources practice, specializing in the Oil & Gas sector.

Francisco holds more than 10 years of management consulting experience. Throughout his consulting career, Francisco has served clients across North and South America in the oil & gas, manufacturing and finance industries, as well as the public sector. His work within each has emphasized strategy and sustainability.

During his tenure at Bain, Francisco has advised clients on topics including performance improvement, humanitarian and disaster relief, loyalty and rewards programs, Results Delivery® and Simple & Digital transformation.

Prior to joining Bain in 2017, he served as the executive director of Centro Mario Molina, the executive coordinator of the Metropolitan Environmental Commission, the president of the National Institute of Ecology and Climate Change (INECC) and as a partner for another top consulting firm.

He holds a PhD in energy and environmental policy from Imperial College, as well as both master's and bachelor's degrees in chemical engineering from UC Berkeley and Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, respectively.
