About Igor

Igor Buchatskiy is a senior advisor in Bain & Company's Moscow office. He is an expert in the firm's global Energy & Natural Resources practice, focusing on agribusiness and metals & mining.

Igor has over 10 years of hands-on experience in running large, vertically integrated farming enterprises across a number of sectors, including animal husbandry, cash crops, orchards and sugar production. He is deeply versed in the pain points of modern large-scale farming and the gains that players stand to benefit from best industry practices, as well as new technologies, tools and ideas. 

In addition to his experience as an executive in the industry, Igor holds 5 years of consulting experience and has substantial experience in M&A activity in agriculture, in addition to other sectors, such as FMCG, mining and steel across both Europe and Latin America. 

He is currently a Mentor for the Techstars Farm2Fork program, co-sponsored by Cargill and Ecolab and based in Minneapolis. The program focuses exclusively on agriculture and food-related startups.

Igor holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business.
