Bain & Company expands its growing footprint in India with opening of Bengaluru office

BAIN & COMPANY EXPANDS ITS GROWING FOOTPRINT IN INDIA WITH OPENING OF BENGALURU OFFICE

Consulting firm's 53rd office worldwide highlights its strategic focus on India

Bengaluru – Sept. 9, 2015 – Management consultancy Bain & Company today announced the opening of its new office in Bengaluru (previously known as Bangalore), the firm's fourth in India and its 53rd worldwide.  The office opening is in response to the premium consulting firm's continued strong growth in the country, and its presence in Bengaluru further increases its footprint – both in India and across Asia Pacific.

"Over the last few years, Bain India has delivered consistent double digit growth, and represents one of our fastest growing markets globally," said Dale Cottrell, managing director for Bain's Asia Pacific region. "The addition of the Bengaluru office will further strengthen our long-term commitment to India, which is a strategic priority for the firm, and broaden our portfolio of clients in the region."

Arpan Sheth, who leads the firm's IT Practice in Asia Pacific and heads Bain's Private Equity Practice in India, will serve as managing director of the Bengaluru office, responsible for its growth, operations, people and strategy.

"Our expansion to Bengaluru enables us to better serve our clients across India's entire industrial and consumer products spectrum, particularly in the south, while retaining—and increasing –  our focus on IT services, technology and ecommerce," said Sheth.

He added:  "We are excited that our talented teams will have greater opportunities to work collaboratively with business leaders in the region to deliver enduring results."

Sheth has nearly two decades of consulting experience in the technology industry, working with providers of enterprise technology products and services along with buyers of IT products and services.  He has also worked extensively with e-commerce organizations and investors in technology organizations.

"We look forward to Arpan's leadership in growing the Bengaluru office.  Our presence here will further add to our overall strong growth story in India, which we expect to continue in the coming years. We are currently working with clients to deal with a challenging short-term future while preparing for the longer-term, higher growth opportunities that we expect will unfold in the country," said Karan Singh, managing director of Bain India.

Besides Bengaluru, Bain has consulting offices in Mumbai and the National Capital Region, as well as the Bain Capability Centre, the firm's knowledge group that supports worldwide consulting offices, which is located in Gurgaon.
