Bain & Company names Domenico Azzarello Regional Managing Partner for Europe, Middle East and Africa

Paris – Feb. 5, 2019 – Bain & Company announced today that Domenico Azzarello, a more than 15-year veteran of the firm, will take on the role of regional managing partner for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), effective immediately.  Mr. Azzarello will continue to be based in the Paris office.

Mr. Azzarello was most recently head of Bain France – a position he held for five years.  Under his leadership, the office experienced double-digit growth and significantly strengthened its client portfolio, advising on several high-profile transformations of large French-based global players.  He also strongly supported the French leadership team, with a number of partners going on to lead regional practice areas.  Additionally, Mr. Azzarello placed a heavy emphasis on gender equality, transforming Bain France into the most diverse consulting firm in the French market.

“Domenico has generated great growth and success for the firm in France, and we are confident he’ll do the same across EMEA,” said Manny Maceda, Bain & Company’s worldwide managing partner.  “He’s the right leader to drive the region through another chapter of successful growth, work with partners to deliver enduring results for our clients, and inspire and mentor Bain people to greatness.”

Mr. Azzarello is a member of Bain & Company’s global Telecom, Media & Technology practice and a leader in the firm’s Customer Strategy & Marketing and Organization practices.  He played a major role in developing “Decision Driven Organizations,” Bain & Company’s proprietary approach to organization redesign. He is also a key member of Bain & Company’s global research team on loyalty and the Net Promoter Score®.

He has specific expertise in revenue growth, loyalty and customer experience improvement, leading more than 10 major corporate restructuring programs, including leading the digital transformation of a global tech/telco player, redesigning the company’s operations and the tech infrastructure to deliver a reinvented customer experience.

Additionally, he publishes and is quoted regularly on customer experience and organization in both the French press and international media outlets, such as Forbes.

Mr. Azzarello is a regular contributor to Bain & Company’s pro bono initiatives, focused on education and social entrepreneurship.  He also sits on the board of HEC Business School Foundation.

Prior to joining Bain & Company in 2002, Mr. Azzarello was one of the key founders of the European telecom practice at another global consulting firm.

Mr. Azzarello succeeds Paul Meehan, who served as regional managing partner for EMEA since 2013.
