Biografie Mark

Mark Krafft is a leader in our Performance Improvement and Higher Education practices. While he works across industries, he is also a core member of the firm’s Consumer Products practice. 

He brings 15 years of consulting and professional services experience to his clients in the US and abroad, having worked in the firm’s New York, London, and Washington D.C. offices.

Mark focuses on driving capability, technology, and cost transformation for his clients, from strategy development through to initiative development, program orchestration, and change management. He has significant experience in enabling organizations to simultaneously improve financial sustainability and drive operational excellence. His specific areas of expertise include corporate support function optimization, shared services, capability sourcing, operating model transformation, and Results Delivery®.

Recent client engagements include: The conception and delivery of a leading consumer products company’s global business services transformation, which resulted in meaningful improvement in performance, digitalization, and cost position for the company; The development and delivery of a large government agency’s technology and capability transformation and insourcing program, which yielded +$2.5B in savings and was delivered on-time and under budget; and the creation and mobilization of the 10-year university strategy and performance improvement program for a top-10 public research university.

Prior to joining Bain, Mark worked in M&A investment banking in Los Angeles. He holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School, where he was granted the R.C. Kopf Fellowship and Shuchman-Hulbert Memorial Award in Marketing. He also earned a B.A. from Amherst College. Mark currently lives in Washington D.C. with his wife and three children.
