As an aspiring astronaut from Manila, Manny Maceda, Bain’s Worldwide Managing Partner, earned his engineering degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology before continuing his education and earning his MBA from MIT. Deciding to switch paths after college, Manny joined the firm in 1988 where he’s had an extensive career leading in various roles.
Manny joins Beyond the Bio to kick off a series on our Operating Principle – the core of what we attribute to the firm and our clients’ success. In this episode, you’ll learn about Manny’s background and career journey, and how these five principles continuously produce outstanding results while empowering our teams and making Bain consistently recognized as a great place to work by Glassdoor, Vault, Fortune, and others.
Hear Manny define each principle and explain how “Guided by True North,” “Passion for Results,” “Practical and at Cause,” “Diverse Teams, One Bain,” and “A Bainie Never Lets Another Bainie Fail,” are all pillars of what makes us Bain & Company.
At Bain, we practice rotational leadership, with Manny preparing to step down as Worldwide Managing Partner in June. Christophe de Vusser, a previous guest on the podcast, will be next to take on the role in July. Be sure to join us for this series as we chat with guests who are passionate about servant leadership and have lived these principles during their tenures at the firm.
