How’d you find your way to Bain?
After earning my law degree, I went into private practice, in law firms in Lebanon and Dubai. There, I was advising high-net worth individuals and celebrities. It was all very exciting and deeply interesting, so for that whole time I was opposed to the idea of an in-house role. But as the saying goes, never say never. In 2019 I got an offer I considered irresistible to work for Bain, one of the world’s best consulting firms. I joined as the counsel overseeing our Middle East region, and I love it. The region is developing so quickly economically and there’s so much opportunity here.
What do you enjoy about your work?
Working at Bain is like knowing the future and, more importantly, shaping it. You work with very smart and ambitious people, who are also kind and humble. The company’s emphasis on meaningful impact and results while maintaining strict ethics and a passion to provide exceptional value to clients gives me this constant sense that I have purpose and am part of something bigger.
Plus, they really do support you. I had to relocate to Chicago in 2021 for personal reasons for nearly a year, and everyone helped me with that including our Middle East Office Head, our EMEA Associate General Counsel, and lots of others. That experience really showed me how Bain supports its employees and values them all throughout their careers.
What project are you most proud of?
If I had to pick just one initiative, it would be the work we’re doing on the Middle East risk committee, on which I serve. The members are advisory partners, regional leaders, and practice leaders. Everyone brings something different to the table but works toward the same goal, which is finding what’s in the best interests of our clients. We develop risk strategies so our partners navigate each market's complex regulatory environment. Thanks to this initiative, our partners have entered several new markets with a comprehensive strategy that allows them to mitigate risks and scale their business successfully. It’s rewarding and challenging and I’m proud to be a part of it.
