Debra McCoy collaborates with leaders of investment firms, privately held companies, and public corporations across regions and industries to advance strategic decisions.
Previously, she worked on an active investing team as Managing Director at BlackRock, using data science and quantitative research tools to build portfolios. Her general management and capital markets roles have included asset management, asset allocation, consumer and institutional banking, academia, and strategy. These roles led her to live and work in Bangkok, Delhi, Dubai, Johannesburg, New York, Washington, D.C., the Bay Area, and Houston.
Debra initially worked for Bain after graduating from Howard University, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She later earned an MBA from Harvard Business School where she was a Toigo Fellow.
Beyond her client work, Debra serves on multiple boards and advisory groups, including the Board of Governors of the San Francisco Symphony and Technoserve’s Global Advisory Council (formerly, she served as a Technoserve board member). She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. In addition, Debra worked at the U.S. Department of State for one year after receiving a non-partisan appointment from the President of the United States to serve as a White House Fellow.
