Bain & Company opens first office in Vietnam

HO CHI MINH CITY - September 6, 2023 – Bain & Company, a leading global management consulting firm, today announced the opening of its first office in Vietnam, located in Ho Chi Minh City.

The new office marks the establishment of its physical presence by a tenured group of partners and team members. The group has a long track record of serving global and local corporates as well as financial investors in Vietnam over the last 20 years.

“We are excited to expand our global footprint in Vietnam, one of the most vibrant and fastest growing economies in Southeast Asia,” said Wade Cruse, Managing Partner for Southeast Asia at Bain & Company. “This investment underscores Bain’s ongoing efforts to expand its footprint to support clients across the region. We are committed to put people on the ground and we look forward to creating success stories against the backdrop of a dynamic Vietnamese economy spurred by an exceptional talent pool and innovation ecosystems.”

The strategic move underscores Bain’s commitment to serve the dynamic and rapidly growing Vietnamese market, further strengthening its presence in Southeast Asia. The new office will facilitate closer collaboration with local businesses and multinational corporations and provide them access to Bain’s extensive global expertise, particularly in the areas of technology, digital innovation and sustainability.

“Establishing a strong local presence with senior leadership and local consulting teams is in line with our aspiration to be closer to our clients and to support them going forward. Our mission remains unchanged - to support change-oriented executives in delivering value to an extent that will redefine their industry,” said Andrea Campagnoli.

Andrea is the office head and founding partner of the Bain Vietnam office, co-head of Bain’s technology private equity practice for Asia Pacific, and a member of the broader financial investor practice. “We see immense potential in the young local population, and part of our mission is to attract local top talent and to equip them with the best working experience as well as skills across a range of capabilities.”

The new Vietnam office will allow Bain to apply its deep understanding of the country’s most critical business issues to help clients achieve extraordinary results. Several domains represent the majority of the consulting firm work including (i) business transformations to achieve full potential and to re-define strategy and operations in times of uncertainty, (ii) innovation via technology – including Industry 4.0 solutions, Generative AI , etc., (iii) sustainability efforts to support the transition to net zero across business sectors, and (iv) M&A advisory to investors and corporates when making landmark acquisitions in Vietnam.

To solve client’s most complex issues, Bain deploys multi-disciplinary teams comprising strategists, designers, technologists and data scientists. Most recently in February, it has also formed a service alliance with OpenAI to embed AI into clients’ operations. Locally in Vietnam, Bain has signed an agreement with FPT Digital - adding the reputable company to its bench of partners. The collaboration will enable Bain to support digital transformations efforts across multiple business sectors and industries.

Globally, Bain is renowned as one of the world's leading consulting firms. The firm serves more than 60 percent of the Fortune 500, operating in 40 countries and 65 cities, with a global team exceeding 18,000 professionals.
