Bain & Company's Jennifer Hayes named to Consulting Magazine's 2017 'Women Leaders in Consulting' List

BAIN & COMPANY’S JENNIFER HAYES NAMED TO CONSULTING MAGAZINE’S 2017 ‘WOMEN LEADERS IN CONSULTING’ LIST

New York – Oct. 23, 2017 –Jennifer Hayes, an Atlanta-based partner with Bain & Company’s Retail and Strategy Practices and chair of Bain’s Global Women’s Leadership Council (GWLC), has been recognized by Consulting magazine as one of its 2017 Women Leaders in Consulting in the category of Client Service.

“Congratulations to Jennifer on this outstanding achievement,” said Russ Hagey, Bain’s Chief Talent Officer. “She truly embodies what it means to thrive professionally and personally – from leading clients to mentoring and developing her teams to pursuing family priorities, including raising her three children. On behalf of her colleagues worldwide, we congratulate her on this recognition.”

Hayes advises clients on growth and full-potential business and corporate strategy across a variety of industry segments, with a focus on the retail sector. She has led multi-year transformations for companies in the grocery, specialty retail, outdoor equipment, beverages, and hospitality industries. She also has expertise in a variety of core retail topics including assortment planning, store operations, organizational effectiveness, omni-channel, digital, and sustainability.

As head of the GWLC, Hayes works closely with Hagey as well as regional managing directors, local office heads, and other firm leaders to ensure that Bain is hiring, supporting and advancing top female talent around the globe. The GWLC drives cultural initiatives, research, programs and policies focused on enabling all women to thrive in their long-term Bain careers. Over the last five years, the GWLC has helped to double the number of women on the firm’s leadership team. Additionally, Bain not only applies its well-publicized gender parity research to its own internal efforts, but the firm’s findings also inform initiatives of organizations worldwide. Due in part to the GWLC’s work, Working Mother has recognized Bain as one of its “100 Best Companies” in each of the last 10 years.

Hayes is widely recognized as a mentor and role model for her ability to integrate professional and personal priorities. While working part-time for more than a decade, she received promotions to manager and partner. After a three-month leave spent with her children, Bain tapped her to lead the firm’s work with a major multi-national retail client. In 2014, Working Mother recognized her as one of their “100 Working Mothers of the Year.” Internally, Hayes has won multiple local office awards for her people leadership, and is a seven-time recipient of the “Rockstar Award”– one of Bain’s highest honors given to those who drive exceptional human capital results.

“I’m grateful to be recognized by Consulting magazine and my peers in the industry,” said Hayes. “This award is both a personal honor and a testament to Bain’s unwavering focus on enabling its people to thrive, and not just succeed. I feel very lucky to work at a firm that allows me to have a major impact on such large organizations while still having the ability to invest in my teams and in my personal priorities.”

Outside of Bain, Hayes is a member of the Corporate Leadership Council of the Fernbank Museum of Natural History and the Women’s Leadership Forum.

Hayes joined Bain in 2001. She earned her MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia, where she received the Faculty Award for Academic Excellence and was a member of the Raven Society.

Hayes and her fellow honorees will be recognized at an awards gala on November 16 in New York. Coverage of the honorees and the event will appear in Consulting magazine’s December issue (www.consultingmag.com). Consulting is published by ALM, a global leader in specialized industry news and information.
