Brendan O'Rourke is an expert in our Telecommunications, Media & Technology (TMT) and Enterprise Technology (ET) practices and is global lead of Bain’s architecture guild and services.
With more than 35 years of experience in the TMT industry, Brendan has held global and local CTIO and CIO roles at BT and Télefonica and was deeply involved in the launching of early mobile, broadband and IPTV products in the UK. He has held senior positions in a range of technology start-ups including emerging internet media and mobile services.
Best practices for IT migration: Ensure it’s customer value-led, simplify your business as well as your IT, take an iterative approach to deliver customer value and IT capability in parallel, and remember IT migration is a partnership between business and IT, jointly making sure all decisions are in the best interest of the customer and the business.
Brendan’s expertise is in technology strategy and architecture, technology innovation and the implication of Generative and Agentic AI on technology architecture, large-scale digital transformation, agile operating model and product development.
Brendan focuses on how new technologies play a role in enabling the transformation of the telecommunications industry.
He holds a BSc in mathematics from King’s College London and is an active member of the TMF ODA community.
