Share your journey to Bain.
I’ve always been driven by a passion for sustainability and urban development. After studying Environmental Health at the American University of Beirut, I began my career working on a European-funded project across North Africa and the Middle East, helping mayors design sustainability plans for their cities. That experience deepened my belief in the power of well-structured systems to drive change.
While completing a master’s in Urban Planning and Policy at AUB, I worked as an urban planner across the region. Over time, I realized that to create large-scale impact, I needed to approach public-sector challenges from a different angle — one that leveraged private-sector tools for public good. This led me to pursue an MBA at INSEAD and explore management consulting as a path to make that happen.
During my MBA, I discovered Bain. The more Bainies I met — from recruiters to classmates — the more I felt a genuine connection. By the end of my interviews, I remember thinking, I’ll be really disappointed if I don’t get this one. My summer internship confirmed that feeling. A Bainie once told me, “If you want an extension of your INSEAD experience, Bain is the right place to be.” She was right — I found people I clicked with immediately, and that sense of belonging made it clear this was where I wanted to build my career.
How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?
From day one, Bain has felt like a place where I can be fully myself. The people here are not only brilliant and inspiring but also genuine, kind, and deeply collaborative. Whether we’re tackling complex challenges or sharing ideas over coffee, I’m constantly learning and growing from those around me.
Six years in, I can honestly say that some of my closest friends are people I met at Bain — across all levels and backgrounds. It’s funny, because when I go out with friends outside of work, they often ask, “Do you all actually hang out this much?” And the answer is yes! Some of my closest Bain friends are ten years older or younger than me, yet they feel like family. That sense of community and the absence of hierarchy in how we connect is what makes Bain truly special.
Do you feel like you can do impactful work at Bain? What opportunities excite you?
I joined Bain because I wanted to make an impact — and that continues to be what drives me every day. Working in the public sector and social impact space allows me to help shape policies and initiatives that directly affect people’s lives. I get to work alongside government leaders, non-profit organizations, and philanthropies who are all focused on making their ecosystems stronger and more inclusive.
What excites me most is the scale and variety of the opportunities. One week I might be helping design a national sustainability roadmap, and the next, I’m rethinking how a government can deliver education more effectively. Every project brings a new challenge, a new chance to learn, and a new way to contribute to positive change in the region. It’s incredibly fulfilling to know that the work I do has a real, lasting impact — not just on organizations, but on communities and people’s everyday lives.
“Build Your Own Bain” means creating a thriving career on your own terms. How have you been able to “Build Your Own Bain?”
When I joined Bain, I knew I wanted to work in the public sector, but I also wanted to explore its many facets. I made a conscious effort early on to work across different verticals and topics to discover where I could make the most impact — and who I enjoyed learning from.
Beyond client work, I’ve shaped my Bain experience around my passions. I co-organized the second edition of the Women’s Leadership Forum, joined the Bain band to channel my love for music, and dedicated time to recruiting and mentoring MBA students navigating their own consulting journeys.
What’s made this journey especially fulfilling is Bain’s culture of support. From mentors and advisors to partners who’ve taken time to guide me — even those I hadn’t worked with directly — I’ve always felt encouraged to shape my own path. That network of sponsorship and care has been central to how I’ve built my Bain story: by exploring, contributing, and creating a journey that reflects both who I am and what I value most.
Share some of your favorite work (personal or professional) you’ve done while at Bain.
Some of the most rewarding projects I’ve worked on have been those where impact is visible and immediate. One that stands out was partnering with a national ministry to redesign an entire country’s education strategy — from early childhood through higher education. Seeing that plan come to life, and knowing it would shape the learning experience for generations, was deeply moving.
Another project I’m proud of focused on developing a comprehensive transformation strategy for waste management — rethinking how a government could manage resources more sustainably and responsibly. Both projects combined my background in urban planning and public policy and my passion for development, allowing me to contribute to causes I truly care about.
But my favorite moments at Bain aren’t only about client work. They’re also about the teams I’ve been part of — those late nights brainstorming, the laughter, the shared “aha” moments, and the mutual respect that makes every challenge feel meaningful. Those experiences remind me that impact at Bain isn’t just what we deliver — it’s how we work together to make it happen.
